UAE students hold an evening of poetry

Five Emarati poets who are also students at AUS charmed a large audience with their verses at a poetry evening held March 8 in the Main Auditorium. The evening, organized by the university's Emarati Cultural Club (ECC), was attended by a large audience of students from the UAE and other GCC countries as well as a group of famous poets from the Emirates and the Gulf.

The poets – Saud Al Ka'bi, Hisham Bin Ibrahim, Rabi Al Qalbi, Bujasim, and Al Mansi – presented works in the various styles and forms of Emarati poetry. Mr. Salem Al Qaseer, Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs, and advisor to ECC, stressed the importance of such cultural events, their impact on cultural dialogue and understanding, as well as their role in introducing and promoting the literary talents of UAE students.
