Research Interests
My research interests are to develop scientifically sound strategies to monitor water quality and facilitate the coexistence of multiple land uses with good environmental quality. At the American University of Sharjah, I would like to develop a research plan where I can collaborate with local industrial, agricultural and environmental interests, having students monitor current practices, and determine the most effective management practices for good water quality. I would also like to develop surface water and coastal water monitoring programs for Sharjah and other areas within the UAE. My research experiences have dealt with environmental chemistry, aquatic toxicology, phytotoxicology, phytoremediation, and bioavailability of metals and pesticides in surface waters.
