- Honors, if applicable
Honors
Policy (Baccalaureate
Students)
Latin honors are calculated based on your cumulative
GPA at the end of the semester preceding your
commencement.
Honors are granted to those students achieving
the following academic GPA:
Summa Cum Laude (GPA 3.9-4.0)
Magna Cum Laude (GPA 3.7-3.89)
Cum Laude (GPA 3.5-3.69)
All graduates receiving honors will be cited
with an asterisk in the commencement program.

Smart Chip Fee
The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) has introduced the "SMART Document Attestation solution" a chip that will be installed on your original diploma/certificate before MOHE can attest it. this chip will prove to the MOHE that the AUS diploma/certificate you are carrying is authentic, without the chip your diploma/certificate may not be attested.
This chip will be provided at AUS by Amricon upon graduation. It costs 200 AED and the MOHE may not attest any diploma/certificate from November 2007 onwards if the diploma/certificate does not bear this chip.
AUS Cashiers will accept your payment of 200 AED after you submit the Application for Graduation Form
Diploma Distribution
Graduates will receive a
decorative leather diploma folder during the
commencement ceremony. The folder you receive during commencement will
be empty. You will be informed through your AUS email when diploma/certificates are ready for collection. All holds on a student record should be cleared before the diploma can be collected.
Attesting AUS Degree
AUS through the Office of the Registrar offers the service of degree attestation after every commencement to help the Alumni to certify their degrees. The Office of the Registrar will collect the required documents prepared by the Alum and will send it to Ministry of Higher Education for certification. It is the graduate’s sole responsibility to submit the correct and needed documents. For spring 2008 and Summer 2008 prospective candidates the collection of the documents will start from Sunday April 20, 08 to Thursday May 29, 08. IF YOUR DOCUMENTS ARE NOT RECEIVED BY THURSDAY MAY 29, 08, AUS WILL NOT DO THE ATTESTATION FOR YOU. The following should be submitted to the Office of the Registrar (Degree Audit Office) – College of Arts and Sciences and School of Architecture & Design submit to Ms. Amal Muzaini (MG15A); College of Engineering submit to Ms. Nevine Ezzat (MG21); Masters Students and School of Business submit to Ms. Lynn Lukwaro (MG23)
- Degree Certification Service Form (stamped by the AUS cashier). Alum is required to pay a total of AED 225. AED150 (to stamp original diploma, a copy of the diploma and 1 transcript); AED 50 for the service fee and AED 25 for the AUS official transcript. This form is available here
- Ministry of Higher Education Attestation Application Form available at the Office of the Registrar
- Official AUS transcript and Diploma(will be provided by the Office of the Registrar after graduation)

Diploma Replacement
If the original diploma is lost or misplaced, a replacement can be issued once a police report is presented and submitted with the Replacement of Diploma form to the Office of the Registrar.
In the event the original diploma is damaged, the Replacement of Diploma form needs to be submitted to the Office of the Registrar with the damaged diploma attached.
A fee of 250 AED must be paid for the replacement.
The difference between the original diploma and its replacement is identified by the word "Replacement" printed on the top right corner, as shown below.
Please note the time taken for the replacement to be prepared might vary depending on the availability of the concerned authorities' signatures. |
