Biography

Dr. Zarook Mohamed Shareefdeen received his doctorate in 1994 from the Chemical Engineering Department at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, USA. He joined the AUS Department of Chemical Engineering in August 2006 as Assistant Professor. Prior to joining AUS, Dr. Zarook held several academic and industrial positions. He was an assistant professor at King Fahd University of Petroleum Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia; post graduate researcher at University of California, Riverside, USA; and director of research and applied technology at Biorem Technologies Inc., ON, Canada. Dr. Zarook has published several journal articles, technical papers and book chapters, and given presentations at many international conferences. He has also supervised several graduate theses, edited the book Biotechnology for Odor and Air Pollution Control, and received a US patent on BIOLOGICAL Filters.
