Research Interests

Traffic control with focus on control of congested systems, adaptive control, and use of genetic and neural-based computations and information technologies for optimization of control and modeling of traffic operations. Design of advanced control algorithms for interrupted flow systems

Biography

Ghassan Abu-Lebdeh is Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at the American University of Sharjah (AUS), UAE. He was with Michigan State University (2001-2008) and the University of Kentucky (1999-2001) before joining AUS. He has over 10 years of industry experience in Illinois and Massachusetts, USA. Dr. Abu-Lebdeh obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1999), MSE from the University of New Brunswick, Canada (1985), and BS from Yarmouk University, Jordan (1983), all in civil engineering (Transportation). Dr. Abu-Lebdeh is a recipient of the prestigious Eisenhower Doctoral Fellowship.
