Academic Achievement Center

The Academic Achievement Center recognizes academic advising to be a critical component of the educational experience of its students.

We help undergraduate students make a successful transition and establish their place in university life. We also teach them to take responsibility for learning how to set academic, career and personal goals, as well as graduating in a timely manner, successfully meeting all requirements.

Primarily, we provide students assistance in academic matters through group and individual advising. We work directly with reinstated students, students on academic probation, and students with other academic difficulties, such as students with physical challenges who face learning obstacles, or students with specific learning disabilities.

The center offers testing and advising about choice of majors, career paths and career interests.

Through our academic advising, we intend to help students by:

• clarifying their life and career goals
  
• developing suitable educational plans
  
• directly helping individuals who find themselves on academic probation and/or dismissal
  
• selecting appropriate courses and complementary educational experiences
  
• developing study skills
