
AUS receives one million dollar software donation
The American University of Sharjah has received a software donation worth one million dollars from Telelogic, the leading global provider of solutions for advanced systems and software development. This was announced at a ceremony held at the university on May 21.
The university's departments of computer engineering and computer science will receive multiple copies of Telelogic TAU plus all necessary code generating, editing, compiler, simulation and validation products and Telelogic DOORS, the market-leading requirements management solution. Telelogic's donation will benefit more than 380 students each year in the computer engineering and computer science departments.
“The donation of Telelogic's sophisticated systems and software development tools will help AUS train our students with leading edge software engineering skills and will further enhance the reputation and capabilities of our graduates,” said Dr. Armin Eberlein, Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering. “Since its establishment in 1997, AUS has built a reputation as one of the most advanced centers for higher education in the Arabian Gulf region. Our aim is to prepare our graduates with the skills necessary for a smooth transition into the workforce. The lessons learned from using both Telelogic TAU and Telelogic DOORS will keep AUS's highly rated engineering graduates at the forefront of internationally competitive industries,” he added.
