Senior Iraqi education delegates visit AUS

Members of a delegation comprising senior officials of Iraq's Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research as well as officials from various Iraqi universities visited AUS on February 19. The delegation, led by Dr. Beriwan M. Khailany, Iraq's Deputy Minister for Scientific Affairs, met with Mr. Salem Al Qaseer, Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs, and Dr. Nadia Alhasani, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, as well as other senior university officials.

The Iraqi delegation was in the UAE to establish links with education institutions in the country as part of its efforts to develop and re-vitalize the various institutions of higher education in Iraq after the turmoil and chaos of the recent past.

Dr. Alhasani briefed the delegates about AUS's undergraduate and graduate academic programs. She informed them of the oncampus facilities, including the state-of-the-art teaching aids and laboratories. Dr. Al Hasani also briefed the visitors on the tremendous success achieved by the university since its inception and updated them on its current and future plans. The visitors praised the quality education provided by AUS and applauded the enviable reputation it has earned throughout the region in such a short span of time
