
Sharjah Crown Prince inaugurates Career Fair
His Excellency Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated the fourth annual AUS Career Fair 2005, held at the Sports Complex on March 16. This important event was organized by the university's Career Advising and Placement Services and attracted major government and private organizations from the UAE and the region.

This year's event elicited tremendous response from local, regional and international companies, with 69 private, semi-government and government agencies keen to recruit AUS students as fulltime employees and/or interns during the day-long fair. The event was sponsored by 18 major corporate entities, including Baker Hughes, Citibank, Crescent Petroleum, ADNOC, DUCAB, Ernst & Young, Petrofac, Jebel Ali International Hotels, Amana Steel Industry, Istithmar PJSC, Maritime Industrial Services, Citytec Group LLC, Gulf Precast Concrete, Metito (overseas) Ltd, Gargash Enterprises, Sharjah Islamic Bank, Emirates Computers and Dorma Gulf Door Controls.
“The event provides an important forum for employers from around the region to come to our campus and interact with our talented, ambitious, and impressive student body, which comprises more than 70 nationalities,” said Maysun Nimr, Manager of the university's Career Advising and Placement Services. Ms. Nimr added that this year's fair, once again, proved to be an exciting, valuable and worthwhile event for all the companies participating.
