The dorm opened in 1997 and was among the first dorms on AUS campus. Originally, this was called Al Khansa and was a women’s dorm. In 2002 it was converted to a male dorm.

IJ Men is one of the two dorms where the student room doors do not open into a corridor but rather into a garden. It has most of the facilities that other dorms have like a Computer lab, TV lounge, laundry, fitness room and car parking area.
