1 Admission & Financial Aid Committee        
Mandate: To review standards for undergraduate admission and, upon approval of the Senate, to tender resulting recommendations to the chancellor for consideration of submittal to the board of Trustees. To advise the financial aid office in the formulation of policies, practices, and procedures used in administering all financial aid programs

2 Bookstore Committee      
Mandate: To represent the academic community in matters which relate to the formulation of general bookstore policy and in the development of bookstore services. Further, to act as a liaison among the bookstore, administration, faculty, and students.

3 Budget Committee        
Mandate: To assist in, review and appraise short and long-range university budget planning. To advise administration during budget preparation process. To recommend to the Senate priorities for those Senate recommendations which require funding."

4 Library Committee        
Mandate: The responsibility of the Senate Library Committee shall be to aid the Chief Librarian in the formulation of general library policy and to take an active role on behalf of the faculty in the general development of library resources.

5 U. Curriculum & Academic Affairs Committee        
Mandate: The Curriculum and Academic Affairs committee has been formed to review and recommend curricular and academic matters; (1) to ensure a broad-based education that will enrich the students' knowledge, develop their talents and cultivate a sense of ethics and social responsibility; (2) to provide and ensure a challenging academic environment committed to excellence, creativity, professionalism, and lifelong learning for both students and faculty.

Mandate: The committee should continuously review the existing evaluation procedures and instruments. The committee should develop and recommend to the Faculty Senate evaluation procedures and instruments that fairly assess faculty performance in teaching, service, research and professional development.

8 Welfare Committee        
Mandate: The Faculty Welfare Committee is responsible for reviewing, studying and making appropriate recommendations to the Faculty Senate, on all concerns and needs of faculty. This mandate encompasses issues relating to faculty benefits, housing, working conditions and anything else related to the well being of the AUS faculty that is not addressed by other standing committees of the Senate.
