Student Employment

AUS believes in learning through hands-on experience outside the classroom. Working on campus in various university departments enhances students’ awareness of their surroundingsand provides them with a chance to learn new skills in an office environment. Students can also work in the various outlets and facilities located on campus

AUS provides ample employment opportunities for students who wish to work on campus. Any fulltime undergraduate student is eligible to work on campus. The positions available are funded by the university, and the employers are our departments, schools /colleges and administrative areas. The wages for on-campus employment range from AED 12 to AED 20 per hour.

The six basic criteria by which a student is considered for employment are:

• Under graduate (full time student)
• Financial need
• Qualification
• Seniority
• GPA
• Involvement in student life

Once the Student Employment Office has determined that a student meets the necessary criteria, he or she will be eligible to work a maximum of 15 hours per week (60 hours per month). Students will be allowed to work over an extended period (for limited hours) during academic breaks, spring or summer depending on the employers’ requirement.

Student Employment on-line

On-campus employment is established on line to speed up procedures and facilitate our students and student employers. This on line system operated from Summer Session 2007.

Role of the Employer:

Those who wish to hire a student employee must abide by the following procedure:

• The employer must fill a new application (on-line) and submit it to the SEO to get the approva

 Please note: All the students who wish to work must open an account with on-campus bank. Payments will be done directly, twice a month, to the student account.
