Our Mission

The Safety Enforcement Division is responsible for ensuring and maintaining a safe environment at AUS. Our commitment to safety is based on our vision to create a work and study environment that places the highest value on the welfare of the individual, to instill a sense of ownership and to embrace excellence in the safety aspects of job performance.

The success of the university's Safety Policy and Procedures depends upon the participation of everyone on campus. Such collaborative efforts help ensure a safe place for work and study. Although accidents produce a variety of injuries, some of which may be permanent, most accidents are avoidable.

Heads of colleges/schools and service departments are responsible for ensuring safe conditions for work and/or study in their areas. The Safety Enforcement Division provides, or arranges for the provision of, competent technical advice on safety matters as needed. The Safety Enforcement Manager cooperates fully in the appointment of safety representatives and provides them with sufficient facilities and training if necessary.
