Safety Measures Checklist

The steps below must be followed by dormitory supervisors for unoccupied bedrooms/ buildings.

1. Turn off the following appliances:
   
   a) refrigerators (keep the doors open)
   b) water heaters
   c) exhaust fans
   d) hot  plates 
   e) all internal lighting
   
   
2. Leave the air conditioners on and set at 24 degrees Centigrade.
   
   
3. Close all water taps, mixers and hand spray valves inside the bathrooms and kitchens.
