Alumni Luncheon honors new graduates
On May 31 the Office of Undergraduate Programs and Alumni Affairs held a lunch in honor of the Class of 2006. Addressing the gathering, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, Ruler of Sharjah, Supreme Council Member and President of AUS, congratulated members of the Class of 2006 and wished them continued success in their future endeavors. He also hoped that they would continue to pursue further education.
“I congratulate you all and your parents on your tremendous success,” said His Highness. “I hope to see you all tomorrow where you will take your first steps towards practical life,” he said referring to the commencement ceremony. He also urged the graduates to come back to AUS, as it has several master’s degree programs that can help develop their skills.
The ceremony was attended by members of the AUS Board of Trustees, along with senior AUS officials, faculty and staff members, and students.
His Highness presented the Government of Sharjah Awards for Academic Excellence and Outstanding Achievements to 21 AUS students for their exceptional academic record and significant contribution to extracurricular student activities, at an award ceremony held during the luncheon.
