Biography

Akmal S. Abdelfatah is an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering. He has been with AUS since 1999. Before that, he was a graduate research assistant at the University of Texas-Austin (1994-1999). Before 1994, Dr. Abdelfatah was a teaching assistant at Cairo University and the American University of Cairo (AUC). Also, he was working as a part-time highway and traffic engineer (1989-1994). Dr. Abdelfatah has a PhD from the University Texas-Austin (1990), an MS and BS from Cairo University (1993 and 1988, respectively), all in civil engineering with emphasis on transportation engineering. Dr. Abdelfatah is a registered professional engineer in Egypt.
