Mohammad Ameen Al-Jarrah received Diplom Engineer in Mashine design and Manufacturing in 1980 from the Byelorussian Polytechnic in USSR, MSc in Applied Mechanics from Yarmouk University (1983), and MSc and PhD in Aeronautical Engineering from Stanford University in 1985 and 1989, respectively. He joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the American University of Sharjah in 2000, where he is presently a full professor. He has served as the founding  director of the AUS mechatronics graduate program since it was founded in 2001 until August of 2007.  He is currently the head of the mechanical engineering department at AUS. He has also authored or coauthored more than 70 papers that have appeared in various journals and conference proceedings.
