2. Manuscripts are accepted for review with the understanding that they contain original unpublished works and have not been submitted for publication elsewhere. Previous presentation at conferences should be disclosed. Author(s) will be notified via e-mail upon receipt of manuscripts. The journal does not accept responsibility for damage or loss of manuscripts submitted. Submitted manuscripts that exceed 25 pages will not be considered.

3. Manuscripts should be written in English, double-spaced with one-inch margins, printed on one side of A4 or letter-size white paper. All pages must be consecutively numbered. Titles and subtitles should be kept as short as possible. Avoid footnotes, endnotes and appendices. References, tables and figures should be printed on separate pages.

4. RAE is peer-reviewed by at least two peers. Peer review is critical in academic publication to maintain quality and integrity of the published manuscripts and the journal itself.

5. The first page of the manuscript should include the following information: (i) the title, (ii) the name(s) and institutional affiliation(s) of the author(s), (iii) an abstract of no more than 150 words, (iv) maximum three key words, and (v) maximum three Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) classification numbers (example, C20, D72 and N16). A footnote providing the name, postal and e-mail addresses, and telephone and fax numbers of the corresponding author should be provided on this same page. Acknowledgements and information on grants received can also be provided within this footnote.

6. Figures will be reproduced photographically from originals supplied by the author. Only relevant figures and tables should be included on separate pages (should not be inserted in the text) and should be numbered consecutively in the text using Arabic numerals. Legends for figures should also be printed on separate pages. The titles and legends on tables and figures must be sufficiently descriptive so that they are understandable without reference to the text.

7. Formulae should be numbered consecutively against the right-hand margin of the page throughout the manuscript as in (1), (2), (3), etc. If the derivation of formulae has been abbreviated, the full mathematical derivation should be presented on an appendix.

References in the text should appear as Randall (1990) or Luzar et al. (1993). The author should make sure that there is a strict one-to-one correspondence between the names and years in the text and those included in the reference list. The references list should begin on a separate page at the end of the main text before tables and figures. References should be listed in alphabetical order by author's last name. Note that journal and book titles, either italicized or underlined, should not be abbreviated. References should appear as follows:

For books:

8. Data used in the empirical analysis should be sufficiently documented and be readily available to any researcher for purposes of replication. In the case of publicly available data sets, identification of variables used and any selection criteria for inclusion in the sample will suffice.

9. Authors are encouraged to send electronic version of their papers in MS WorD or PDF format to expedite the reviewing process.

10. Any manuscript that does not conform to the above instructions may be returned for necessary revision before publication. Manuscripts failing to either meet the guidelines listed here, or to comply with the aims and scope of this journal, will be rejected without review. No paper will be rejected solely on the grounds of being too technical or too applied. As an applied journal targeting general readership, we ask authors to take care to motivate their work and to communicate in clarity.

Note: As a scholarly journal, RAE contains ideas, thoughts, assertions and opinions of its contributing authors. No responsibility for the views expressed by authors in the journal is assumed by the editors and the publisher
