Room Number: EB2-037

Lab Director: Dr. Mohammed Gadalla

Lab Instructor: Muhammad Jasim

Course Number: MCE 341, MCE 345L, MCE 445, MCE 447, MCE 451, MCE 452, MCE 487

The Internal Combustion Engine Laboratory serves students studying mechanical engineering power-related courses and major electives. Our lab can be used to measure engine performance and gas emission from various types of engines at different operating conditions. It also houses a pump test rig to evaluate pump performance and develop pump characteristics at various operating conditions.

The major equipment in the laboratory includes:

  • gasoline engine test rig
  • diesel engine test rig
  • electrical dynamometer
  • universal hydraulic dynamometer
  • cut views of gasoline and diesel engines
  • two gas analyzers
  • pump test rig with control panel
  • solar PV modules
  • fuel cell tester
  • solar energy simulator
