The Cultural Events Committee presents the Cecilia String Quartet and Leopoldo Erice in concert.
Formed in 2004 and winner of the 2010 Banff International String Quartet Competition, the Cecilia String Quartet (CSQ) is an internationally acclaimed ensemble based in Toronto, Canada. The CSQ is Ensemble in Residence at the University of Toronto Faculty of Music. Hailed for its "powerful" (Chicago Sun-Times) and "dauntingly perfect" (Berliner Zeitung) performances, the CSQ has performed across Europe and North America, as well as in Japan and Australia, and its live concert recordings have been broadcast on more than a dozen international public radio networks. The CSQ will be joined by AUS faculty member and internationally acclaimed concert-pianist Leopoldo Erice. Their program will include works by Mendelssohn, Webern and Brahms.
