Arabic Calligraphy Workshop (March 2017)
Well-known Emirati calligrapher Khalid Al-Jallaf will present a workshop about the historical and artistic aspects of the Arabic script, showcasing his own work and providing a hands-on experience for students to try simple artistic strokes of Arabic script.
Al-Jallaf is Founder and Chairperson of the UAE Arabic Calligraphy and Islamic Ornamentation Association. He has presented several lectures and workshops about Islamic arts and calligraphy in Egypt, Japan, Korea, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Kuwait, France, Oman, and elsewhere. He has also won several awards as an artist and researcher in Arabic and Islamic art. He organized five solo exhibitions in Arabic calligraphy between 2008-2014.
