Architect as Project (February 2016)
The College of Architecture, Art and Design invites you to a lecture by Brett Steele, the Director of the AA School of Architecture in London
BIOGRAPHY
Brett directs the AA School of Architecture, including its public program, publications, membership and fundraising activities. Current projects include multi-year master plans expanding the AA's historic Bedford Square home and rural campus in Hooke Park, Dorset. Since 2005 Brett has hired 150 new teachers from Europe, Asia & the Americas who now teach in the full-time school in London, alongside 100 teachers in the world-wide Visiting School. Brett's initiatives at the AA have include the launch of the Digital Prototyping Lab; a new rural campus in Dorset; new full-time MSc & MPhil graduate courses; and a new PhD by Design programme. New administrative projects have included the launch of new academic advisory groups; a Digital Platforms team managing an online information site and archive; and AACP Curatorial Practices. AA exhibitions curated by Brett have in recent years traveled from London to Venice, Beijing, Tokyo, Sao Paolo architecture biennales and other venues.
