The AUS Cultural Events Committee presents an evening of music and songs by AmerAmmouri and his band.
The program will include the mostprominent music tracks for famous Arab tarab giants.
Amer Ammouri was born in Aleppo, Syria, where he still lives. He began playing the oud at an early age, and went on to tour with a number of famous Arab singers, including Sabah Fakhri and Shadi Jamil. He is the principal oud player in the Salatin El Tarab ensemble, which performs the muwashahat and qudud halabiyya styles of Syrian music. Ammouri has performed in the Middle East, Europe and America, and has released three albums of solo oud.
