Sharjah ruler meets new AUS faculty members
His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammed AlQasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the UAE and Ruler of Sharjah, and President of American University of Sharjah (AUS), expressed his satisfaction at the progress made by the university in the scientific and academic fields as a result of the combined effort of the university's employees.
The Sharjah Ruler stated this during a meeting held today with 42 new AUS faculty members wherein he welcomed them to the university and wished them the best of luck in the performance of their academic duties.
His Highness said that the choice of the university's faculty members is based on their high level of academic achievements and qualifications.. He also pointed out that AUS puts a great deal of effort into developing its academic and research programs.
His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan also pointed to the introduction of a number of graduate programs, saying that the university was keen to provide a stimulating and fruitful academic environment to its faculty members.
The Sharjah Ruler also attended a luncheon held for the new faculty members. His Highness was accompanied by AUS Trustee Hamid Jafar, Chairman and CEO of Crescent Petroleum Company; Dr. Björn Kjerfve, Chancellor of AUS; and a number of other senior officials.
