These versatile machines can be custom made or bought and allow for tools to be attached to a robot arm (called end effectors). The robots may be programmed for one off or repetitive tasks which are performed with a high degree of accuracy.
The Digital Fabrication Lab at CAAD features two 6-axis Kuka robots and use Rhino Grasshopper with KUKA|PRC plugin.
Specifications
We have two floor mounted KUKA KR 125/3 robotic arms with a payload of 125kgs each and a reach of 2.4m. In addition, there’s an external KUKA DKP-400 2-axis turntable connect to one of the robots. The working area and volume varies based on type of task being programmed.
Access
