Scholarly Study, the Academy, Research and Publishing (December 2011)
The publication of Resolving Classroom Management and School Leadership Issues in ELT (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2011 ISBN 9781443831543) exemplifies the relationship that exists between the scholarly community, its relationship with other scholarly communities and society in which the community exists.
This participatory seminar will encourage discussion from all participants. It will start with a panel discussion, facilitated by Dr. David Prescott, Dr. Caroline Brandt, Shireen Baghestani, Azza Mahmoud Gamal El Din and Sarah Al-Shammari who will discuss topics from the book:
- the relationship between university scholarship and social responsibility
- action research as a learning process
- the emergence of future and alternative "voices" through publishing, and
- professional enrichment emanating from engagement and reflection
The session will conclude with an open question and answer session. If you have an interest in scholarship, publication and social responsibility, please join us.
