To celebrate National Young Readers week, the AUS Office of Enrollment Management Sharakah Program invites students from grade 7 to grade 12 to attend the Sharakah Reading Festival 2022.
Attendees will be able to join in a range of interactive reading-themed events during their visit. Participants can dress up as their favorite literary character; creative cosplay will win prizes!
Festival activities will include:
- Take home a book: Choose one or two books from a wide range of free pre-loved books from different genres.
- Learn American Sign language (ASL): Join this workshop led by AUS Community Services and Outreach to learn about ASL, including basic conversational signs, fingerspelling and relatable university signs.
- Swap a book: Bring your favorite book to trade with other participants in our Swap Zone.
- Search for book clues in our digital Treasure Hunt.
- Get creative with bookmark decoration.
- Unwind with mindful literature-based coloring and painting.
- Connect with anime/movie trivia.
- Balance your mind through reading.
- Take home a prize from our Scratch and Win booth.
