AUS faculty win Best Paper Award at international conference
Two faculty members from the College of Engineering at American University of Sharjah (AUS) were declared the winners of the Best Paper Award at the IEEE Symposium on Computer Application and Industrial Electronics ISCAIE 2017 held in Malaysia last month.
Dr. Nasser Qaddoumi, Professor of Electrical Engineering, and Dr. Lutfi Albasha, Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering, along with research associate Mansour Taghdousi, won the award for their paper entitled "On the design of a miniaturized planar elliptically nested multiband antenna" which presented a novel antenna concept suitable for Internet of Things (IoT) sensor nodes.
The work is part of an industrial sponsored Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC) $300K grant that Dr. Albasha has recently received.
