Chairperson of Environment and Protected Area Authority visits AUS
Hana Al-Suwaidi, Chairperson of the Environment and Protected Area Authority (EPAA), visited the Department of Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Sciences at American University of Sharjah (AUS) today, January 12, 2015.
Al-Suwaidi, who led a team from EPAA, discussed with the AUS faculty members means to foster collaboration between AUS and the department in environmental research and remediation. During the visit, Al-Suwaidi and the EPAA team displayed a mobile wildlife environment exhibition in the Chemistry Building rotunda to enhance environmental awareness among AUS students.
The visit, which was part of the EPAA's Environmental Awareness campaign, included a tour of the department laboratories and view of environmental research equipment. The delegation met with faculty who conduct environmental research. The student research and internships were also discussed.
