Students attend Korean Food Festival
Students from the AUS Korean Cultural Club attended the Korean Food Festival held October 11 at the Address Hotel, Dubai Marina. Organized by the Consulate General of Korea in Dubai, the festival was aimed at introducing Korean culture and food to the UAE community. Famous Korean restaurants and cafes participated in the event, which included food sampling and cooking classes.
During the event, the students were introduced to many Korean dishes, both modern and traditional and were taught how to prepare some of these dishes. In addition, the students also watched traditional Korean dances including buchaechum, a fan dance, and samgu-mo, a drum dance.
"It was a great experience for our students to learn and experience Korean culture and food right here in the UAE. We encourage our students to take advantage of the many cross-cultural learning opportunities through events and activities offered by the Office of Student Affairs and those in partnership with private and governmental entities," said Dr. Moza Al Shehhi, Dean of Students.
