Wild About Oscar (October 2012)
Enter the world of theatre, poetry, novels and witticisms of the great Irish Writer Oscar Wilde or Learn about one of Ireland's most famous literary figures in a thoroughly unconventional, engaging and amusing manner.
Miss Moriarty, the strict, eccentric yet loveable headmistress of St Oscar's school for good catholic girls in Dublin and her sidekick, Miss Shenanigan, a substitute teacher of the school, take you on a wild and crazy escapade of Oscar Wilde's life and works. They are both passionately wild about the great Oscar but express their enthusiasm in very different, atypical and often hilarious ways.
Short, funny and easy to follow scenes, from the plays give the audience a taste of Wilde's theatre. An interactive theatre experience provides spectators with the chance to become characters in the plays themselves, giving them first-hand experience of both the language and mores of Victorian England.
The show also includes a short adaptation for young theatre goers of Oscar Wilde's renowned novel 'The picture of Dorian Gray'. Finally, no portrayal of Wilde would be complete without a glance at his poetry and famous witticisms.
