Microlocal Analysis in Gevrey Spaces (April 2015)
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics cordially invites you to a seminar talk by Dr. Ziad Adwan (American University of Dubai).
Abstract:
Gevrey Spaces are intermediate spaces between the spaces of smooth functions and real analytic functions. In my talk, I will introduce Gevrey Spaces, going over all of their important properties. I will then show how to solve Carleman's Problem (a very interesting and hugely useful complex analysis problem) in Gevrey spaces. Then we will use the solution of Carleman's Problem to study "almost analytic extensions" of Gevrey functions from R^n to C^n. Finally, we will look at solutions of Gevrey vector fields and study their microlocal behavior. This is joint work with Dr. Gustavo Hoepfner (Journal of Geometric Analysis).
