
How Do L2ers Comprehend Voice Mismatch in Ellipsis?: An ERP Account
To improve understanding of linguistic studies in the language acquisition field, this talk introduces a recent ERP study about English learning by Korean L2ers.
Speaker: Sun-Woong Kim, PhD, Professor at Kwangwoon University, Seoul
Professor Sun-Woong Kim has been a linguistics professor at Kwangwoon University, Seoul, since 1988, where he also served as Dean of Humanities and Dean of Academic Affairs. He was a visiting scholar at three universities in the US: MIT (1993-94), University of Connecticut (2001-02) and University of Maryland (2008-09). He got a Fulbright Research Award when he was visiting University of Maryland. For the past 30 years, he has been working on understanding generative syntax with special focus on the clausal architecture of English and Korean. He is now working on cleft sentences and their kin in English and Korean.
