AUS student delivers speech at Visions2Reality conference
American University of Sharjah (AUS) student Alya Alhazami, a member of the AUS Student Leadership Program, was a speaker at the Visions2Reality (V2R) conference held on November 2, 2015 at the Dubai World Trade Center. Visions2Reality is a knowledge sharing conference where business leaders from award-winning organizations shared exclusive insights on the entire major thrust areas of business excellence: strategic planning, business management, process excellence, customer relationship enhancement and corporate social responsibility.
The conference also featured presentations by renowned keynote speakers and provided a platform for discussions with experts from multiple industries.
"V2R was a very enriching and humbling experience," said Alya Alhazami, a sophomore student majoring in international studies, who delivered a speech entitled "Navigating Diversity."
"Being chosen as a youth representative of the UAE after rigorous auditioning processes was rewarding. I spoke about diversity in the UAE, and related it to how it can help human existence flourish. I made sure to include our rulers in the speech, as they are a huge inspiration to everything I do and achieve," said Alhazami.
"The competition was rigorous and we are very pleased to have our student chosen from among a pool of speakers to deliver a speech at the conference. The conference provided a better understanding about best practices in leadership, strategy and people management. We thank Sharjah Islamic Bank for giving our students the opportunity to take part in the conference and look forward to future collaboration," said Dr. Moza Al Shehhi, Dean of Students.
The conference was organized by Sharjah Islamic Bank, SIB Academy and Department of Economic Development.
