Sharjah Ruler meets new faculty
His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhamad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the UAE and Ruler of Sharjah, and President of American University of Sharjah (AUS), affirmed the university’s commitment to quality education noting that the performance of the university is a reflection of the success of its faculty.
The Sharjah Ruler welcomed 36 new AUS faculty members at a special event held today, September 5, and wished them the best of luck in the performance of their academic duties. “We are moving forward toward the development of the university in all areas. Faculty members are an integral part of our development program because the success of the university depends mainly on the professors,” he said.
AUS welcomed 19 faculty members to the College of Arts and Sciences, specializing in the fields of international studies, Arabic and translation, biology, chemistry and environmental science, performing arts, English language, mathematics and statistics, and writing studies; eight faculty members to the College of Engineering, specializing in computer, industrial, mechanical, chemical and civil engineering; six new faculty members to the College of Architecture, Art and Design; and three new faculty members specializing in management and marketing and luxury brand to the School of Business Administration.
His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan also attended a luncheon for the new faculty members. He was accompanied by Dr. Björn Kjerfve, Chancellor of AUS, and other senior university officials.
