Sheikh Khalifa Scholarship Award winners announced
American University of Sharjah (AUS) awarded the prestigious Sheikh Khalifa Scholarships for Academic Year 2016-2017 during a ceremony held May 10, 2016.
The winners are Abdul Ghani Soucar from the College of Engineering; Ibrahim Ibrahim from the College of Architecture, Art and Design; Naila Iqbal from the College of Arts and Sciences; and Vana Borghosizian from the School of Business Administration.
The Sheikh Khalifa Scholarship recognizes academic excellence, leadership potential, service to community, demonstrated talent in the field of study, and participation in extracurricular and university activities. The recipients were selected through a rigorous multi-stage review process.
"This is one of the most distinguished awards offered at AUS. It recognizes the top students not only in terms of academic performance, but also in terms of extracurricular activities," said Kevin Mitchell, Interim Provost.
"We go through a very intense process to select the recipients. It not only involves review by a faculty committee at the school or college level, but it also involves a review by a university-level committee. I would like to congratulate the winners for all their efforts and hard work," said Mitchell.
