Laboratory Instructor | College of Engineering
Position Summary
The Electrical Engineering Department is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Instructor to support and enhance our electronics courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for structuring and guiding laboratory experiments, maintaining and improving lab equipment and facilities, and assisting students with electronic design labs, senior design projects, and master’s-level courses.
Job Responsibilities
• Prepare and teach laboratory sessions for Electronics courses.
• Supervise and guide students in performing circuit measurement experiments.
• Assist faculty in developing new lab experiments and instructional materials.
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Ensure safe working practices and compliance with laboratory safety standards.
• Support student projects and provide technical assistance in hardware prototyping.
• Manage inventory of lab components, tools, and consumables.
• Grade laboratory reports and provide constructive feedback to students.
• Collaborate with course instructors to align lab content with lecture topics.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of lab manuals and procedures.
• Assist in different department activities and events.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering, specializing in Electronics.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Printed Circuit Board design, fabrication and testing.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EDA tools (Cadence, ADS, Silvaco etc)
- Excellent communication, mentoring, and organizational skills.
- Excellent teaching skills and research support.
- Commitment to student learning, safety, and innovation in laboratory environments.
- Teaching and or industrial experience in the field of electronics engineering is preferable.
- Proven laboratory instruction experience at the university level is highly desirable.
- Strong foundation in core electronics, experience in biomedical and RF Electronics is a plus.
