Faysal Tabbarah is an Associate Dean and Associate Professor of Architecture at the American University of Sharjah. Tabbarah also curated the National Pavilion UAE’s exhibition, “Aridly Abundant,” for the 18th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia in 2023. Tabbarah’s teaching and research interrogate the potential of activating material and environmental practices in SWANA to drive innovative contemporary design and building solutions by exploring context-driven modes of production, alternative material systems, and the relationship between environmental and architectural imaginaries.
