International Study and Exchange

One of the most important features of life at AUS is its truly multicultural environment. We are extremely proud of the fact that we have approximately 90 nationalities on campus!

Our International Exchange Office (IXO) was established to foster and enhance this very aspect. The aim is to provide AUS students and faculty with as many exchange opportunities as possible. This includes sending and hosting visiting scholars, aiding faculty members in arranging international study tours, developing exchange agreements with universities around the world, and achieving membership in the top global exchange consortia. We are also developing our international internship program to provide students with wider internship opportunities and application assistance.

Our memberships in International Student Exchange Programs (ISEP) and Academic Programs International (API) connect our university with hundreds of universities from more than 40 countries worldwide.

The Goals of IXO are:

1. To raise the visibility and awareness of AUS (and Sharjah more generally) as a high-quality study abroad destination and educational institution amongst universities, students and scholars from around the world.

2. To increase the number of AUS students having an international academic experience during their studies.

3. To increase the number of international students who spend a successful semester or up to a year studying at AUS.

4. To ensure that incoming international degree-seeking students make a successful transition to UAE, and feel comfortable and cared for during their degree program(s) at AUS.

5. To establish a successful study abroad partnership with high-quality universities and institutions around the world.

6. To provide consistently excellent customer service to our various stakeholders

7. To foster a successful and positive work/office environment for our team, students, and university guests.

8. To contribute significantly to the University's ability to achieve its mission, vision, values, strategies and goals.
