As the main driver of the liberal arts education at AUS, the College of Arts and Sciences provides exciting academic programs in social and natural sciences, humanities and performing arts. It is home to nine undergraduate and three graduate programs.

Mahmoud Anabtawi

In the AUS College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), we aim to inspire the intellectual and creative potential of our students. It is our goal to create an environment where students gain a comprehensive education in the liberal arts tradition to become critical thinkers and creative problem solvers and to prepare them for lifelong success and rewarding careers. Our graduates have a proven track record of finding employment in some of the biggest corporate names in the region, and in governmental and non-governmental international agencies. They have also pursued further education at some of the most prestigious academic institutions in North America and Europe.

As the main driver of the liberal arts education at AUS, the College of Arts and Sciences provides exciting academic programs in social and natural sciences, humanities and performing arts. It is home to nine undergraduate and three graduate programs.

We are committed to enhancing our students’ educational experience by continuously investing in the development of our instructional capabilities and infrastructure; keeping our undergraduate, graduate and general education curriculum up-to-date; engaging our students in research; and recruiting and hiring outstanding faculty who are accomplished researchers and teachers with degrees from some of the world’s top universities. This genuinely reflects our commitment to our mission of offering our students the opportunity to explore linkages across the liberal arts disciplines through a robust and diverse curriculum of study in a variety of academic and experiential settings.

Contribution to the community is an essential part of our mission at CAS. Our teaching benefits from the input of potential employers of our students as well as from the rich heritage and diverse culture that brings us together. We are, in turn, committed to offering services and professional assistance that allow businesses, government and social organizations in the Gulf region to benefit from the expertise of our faculty and staff.
