The Department of Mathematics and Statistics of the College of Arts and Sciences cordially invites you to a seminar to be conducted by Dr. Patrick Solé from Telecom-Paris Tech France and King Abdul-Aziz University, KSA.
Abstract
Skew polynomial rings form an interesting class of noncommutative rings. We survey recent applications to coding theory: Skew cyclics codes over finite fields and Galois rings (with Boucher, Ulmer, AMC 2008), cyclic algebras for space time block codes (with Oggier,Belore, ISIT 2009), quasi-cyclic codes (with Yemen), convolutional codes (after Gluesing Luersen).
