This workshop will discuss blockchain technology and the patentable areas in this field. It will also look at Web3 and NFTs.

About the speakers
Will Schultz is the chair of Merchant & Gould's Internet, Cybersecurity, and ECommerce practice group. He focuses on internet and technology law. He navigates companies through legal issues related to online marketplaces (Amazon, eBay, Alibaba, etc.), online search (keywords, SEO, sem, etc.), website development and content, domain names, and the decentralized web (blockchain technology, the metaverse and NFTs). He has experience with due diligence investigations related to Internet technologies, domain name analysis, enforcement of brands and trademarks online, and analysis of contracts and privacy policies related to online services. He also has experience managing counterfeits and infringements on online marketplaces. He has authored several articles and presented seminars regarding software patent litigation, keyword advertising, Internet trademark surveys, and protecting the online intellectual property rights of authors, and presented multiple seminars on Web3.

Daniel Bruzzone is a Partner within Merchant and Gould's Minneapolis office. Bruzzone is a dedicated IP attorney who practices patent prosecution and filing, with a focus on international practice. He is passionate about guiding his clients through complex situations and giving them quality recommendations on how to move forward, considering all the options available.
