The Floer-Rabinowitz Homology and Infinite Dimensional Dynamical Systems (November 2014)
On behalf of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the College of Arts and Sciences, you are cordially invited to a seminar to be conducted by Dr. Ali Maalaoui from American University of Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.
Abstract:
In this talk, we will present recent work in the construction of a Floer type homology related to strongly indefinite functionals. This construction will allow us to get existence and multiplicity results for infinite dimensional dynamical systems under generic assumptions. This can be seen as a standardized way in dealing with different kinds of PDEs and dynamical systems in variational structure. As an application, one can get existence and multiplicity results for the periodic Schrodinger equation, wave equation, Hamiltonian systems, Dirac equation and many other systems of PDEs.
