The players competed in men's and women's badminton, men's and women's table tennis and men's squash. The AUS participants bagged first place in men's table tennis and squash, and also claimed second place in both men's and women's badminton.
The participating universities included University of Wollongong in Dubai, University of Sharjah (Men), University of Sharjah (Women), Emirates Aviation University, Manipal University Dubai, Middlesex University, Birla Institute of Technology and Science-Dubai, Canadian University of Dubai, Murdoch University Dubai, Birla Institute of Technology-Ras Al Khaimah, Ras Al-Khaimah Medical and Health Sciences University and AUS.
Dr. Moza Al Shehhi, Dean of Students, congratulated the athletes for their achievements, stressing the importance of such tournaments in building strong partnerships with other educational institutions and for serving as a platform for students to network with their peers from other universities. "In spite of being heavily engaged in many competitions across the UAE during this peak season, our athletes manage to maintain their performance levels to achieve well in tournaments and represent AUS in the best possible manner. I am very appreciative of their efforts," Dr. Al Shehhi said.
Organized by Student Athletics and Recreation in the Office of Student Affairs, the event concluded with Dr. Mohamed Helal, Director of AUS Student Athletics and Recreation, congratulating the winners for their remarkable performance and handing out prizes and trophies to the winners.
