AUS Trustee MaryAnn Baenninger named first woman president of Drew University
AUS Trustee MaryAnn Baenninger will become the first woman president of Drew University in New Jersey, United States, in the school's 147-year history, according to the University's website. Trustee Baenninger will replace interim president Vivian A. Bull as of July 21. She has been the President of the College of Saint Benedict in Minnesota since 2004.
In a statement in Drew University's website, Trustee Baenninger said, "Drew's aspirations and goals are a direct match for my experience and for the aspects of higher education that are especially dear to my heart." She added, "It will be a privilege to be its leader."
AUS Acting Chancellor Dr. Thomas Hochstettler congratulated Trustee Baenninger on behalf of the AUS community and wished her all success in her new tenure. Baenninger has diligently served as member of the AUS Board of Trustees since May 2006, he added.
