Position Summary
The Senior IT Specialist - eLearning will support the ICT & IT Security Department by providing technical support and training for the institution’s eLearning platforms. This role is responsible for maintaining and supporting the learning management system (LMS), lecture capture systems, virtual classrooms, collaboration tools, and academic integrity solutions, ensuring a seamless online and remote learning experience for both faculty and students.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on training sessions, workshops, and user guides to help faculty and students navigate eLearning tools.
- Resolve common user issues related to access privileges, course management, gradebook functionality, rubrics, assignment submissions, tests, discussion boards, institution pages, and organizations.
- Provide technical support to students, faculty, and staff for LMS, virtual classrooms, lecture capture systems, and academic integrity tools.
- Ensure seamless integration of eLearning tools with the LMS.
- Develop eLearning tools’ user manuals, FAQs, and video tutorials for self-service learning.
- Monitor the performance of eLearning systems, ensuring timely updates and patches.
- Generate reports on system usage, student engagement, and learning analytics.
- Provide insights and recommendations for LMS improvements based on user feedback and data trends.
- Assist in implementing accessibility standards for digital learning materials.
- Participate in eLearning and IT-related projects.
- Explore and evaluate emerging eLearning technologies and process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in related field: Computer science/Computer Engineering/Information Technology.
- Minimum of 7 years of IT Support Services experience and 5 years of eLearning system administration and support experience.
- Experience in academic setting or higher education.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students on the use of technology.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS), including administration and configuration, as well as virtual classrooms, collaboration tools, lecture capture systems, and academic integrity tools.
- Knowledge of emerging learning technologies, including VR/AR environments, AI tool integration, and microcredential badging systems.
