The Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution Officer will support SCCR daily operations, student conduct administration, and ensure an effective learning environment through the enforcement of the student code of conduct. This role plays a key part in promoting student ethical development and fostering a transformative learning experience.
Job Responsibilities
SCCR Operations
- Manage day-to-day tasks of the department and execute all functions within it.
- Complete administrative functions in coordination with SCCR Team.
- Attend individual and weekly SCCR team meetings.
- Contributes to the development and enhancement of conduct processes and strategies to improve SCCR services.
System Management (Student Infraction Management System)
- Process Student Conduct Incidents assigned, ensure notes and documentation is uploaded and the case is closed on SIMS after the outcome letters are issued.
- Update information on Student of Concern cases on Care Reporting (SIMS).
Administrative Follow ups:
- Follow up on Student of Concern Committee assigned cases and provide regular updates.
- Follow-up on implementation of sanctions, including conditions/requirements to be met/fulfilled and holds to be placed.
- Coordinate with the Student Residential Life Department, Campus Security, faculty, staff, and other AUS units in responding to reported conduct incidents.
SCCR Awareness Programs/Workshops:
- Uphold AUS policies and develop programs/workshops to address concerns and educate students.
- Assist the team in implementing Awareness Sessions
- Assist SCCR team in delivering Mediation Training/Workshops
- Oversee the Student Ambassador Program by engaging with recruited students and organizing awareness and educational activities.
Documentation and Reporting
- Review and ensure letters issued by SCCR are in alignment with Departmental Standards.
- Support the Conduct Specialist in gathering data for reporting.
General Support
- Develop and coordinate SCCR assessment initiatives to evaluate program effectiveness.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the SCCR team for effective operations of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education, Psychology, Sociology or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in higher education and administrative roles.
- Strong communication and analyzing skills.
- Problem solving ability Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in digital systems (MS Office, SIMS, etc.)
- Data management and record keeping
