I graduated from Ithaca High School, Ithaca NY in 1991 with honors. I graduated with a BSc. dual degree in Marine Science and Biology, with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Miami in 1994. I graduated from the University of Miami cum laude with general honors and a 3.99 / 4 GPA. I graduated with a PhD. degree in Marine Science (specializing in Marine Ecology) from the College of William and Mary (Virginia Institute of Marine Science) in 2001 with a 3.94 / 4 GPA. I joined the National Marine Fisheries Service, Miami FL as a post-doc in 2001. I joined AUS in 2002.
