Welcome to the Department of Accounting at the School of Business Administration!
At our department, we believe that accounting is not just the language of business, but the heartbeat of every organization. With the rapid advancements in technology and the increasing complexity of accounting professions, we understand the importance of strategic thinking and leveraging data analytics to drive success.
Our curriculum is designed to keep pace with the ever-changing business landscape, ensuring that our graduates are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their careers. For example, to give our students a competitive edge in the job market, we have integrated data analytics for accounting into our accounting degree program, utilizing tools like Tableau, Power BI and Python. We also recognize the significance of forensic accounting and offer a dedicated course that covers forensic accounting and fraud examination. Additionally, we are actively working towards introducing a course on UAE taxation to cater to local needs. |-BREAK-|
To further enhance our students' career prospects, we foster strong partnerships with accounting professional bodies. Our curriculum aligns with the requirements of certifications such as the Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). Our graduates consistently achieve high passing rates in the CPA exam, reflecting the quality of accounting education we provide. Our program is endorsed by the Institution of Management Accountants (IMA) in the US, and some of our courses are recognized by The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) for equivalency to the Chartered Accountant (CA) certificate.
We believe in a student-centered approach to learning, which is why our classes are intentionally kept small. This allows for personalized attention and fosters effective communication between students and professors. Our faculty members are highly qualified, both academically and professionally, and bring diverse expertise from reputable universities in the US and UK. They actively contribute to the field through high-quality research published in reputable journals across various accounting areas. Our Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) program offers students the opportunity to engage in faculty research as co-authors or Graduate Research Assistants.
If you have any questions about our undergraduate (BSBA) and graduate (MSA) programs in accounting, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to provide further information and guide you on your academic journey. Join our accounting programs to learn and earn, and become a part of our vibrant community.
