The degree programs offered by the College of Architecture, Art and Design (CAAD) are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the Ministry of Education's Higher Education Affairs Division in the United Arab Emirates. CAA accreditation involves rigorous and periodic self-study and evaluation by an external team.
The Bachelor of Architecture program is accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) of the United States. This is the first program outside of North America to receive this prestigious accreditation. NAAB is the only organization authorized to accredit professional degree programs in architecture in the United States.
In the United States, most state registration boards require a degree from an accredited professional degree program as a prerequisite for licensure. The National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) is the sole agency authorized to accredit professional degree programs in architecture offered by institutions with US regional accreditation. A program may be granted a six-year, three-year or two-year term of accreditation, depending on the extent of its conformance with established educational standards.
The American University of Sharjah College of Architecture, Art and Design offers the following NAAB-accredited degree program:
